Thanks to our community support with the bond approval, construction crews putting in additions to help increase school security at many schools across the Huron Valley School District.
Dear HVS,
There has been some misinformation in the media regarding a district wide back pack policy. We wanted to provide some clarification to avoid any confusion.
At the elementary and middle school levels, students are permitted to bring their backpacks to school and use their lockers as has always been our process. No changes have occurred at elementary or middle schools.
The only change that has transpired will be at the high school where students will no longer bring back packs to the classroom. All students have access to lockers and can store any belongings that may be retrieved through passing time. This operational decision is being implemented to avoid hazard in classrooms and hallways and ultimately keep our schools safe.
Principals will review this information with students as they do all building expectations once the school year begins. For accurate information regarding back to school information please refer to the district website www.hvs.org.
Crews are busy at Heritage Elementary School. New paint, new flooring and new carpeting in several areas throughout the school.
