Youth Assistance offers the following:

  • Free Family Centered Casework Services

  • Referrals to Community Resources

  • Teen Substance use Screening, Assessment and Educational Programs

We help families address home and school behaviors, promoting positive child development, giving guidance, problem solving, and fostering family relationships through short term counseling services.

Our Services Include:

  • Day and Overnight Camp Scholarships to Low Income Children

  • Enrichment Scholarships to Participate in Sports, Activities and Positive Learning Experiences

  • Youth and Family Educational Programs

Youth Assistance recognizes child and youth for the volunteer contributions they give back to our community. Nominations are received from schools and other civic organizations.

Scholarship Guidelines:

To be considered for the HVYA Youth Enrichment Scholarship, the following criteria must be met:

  • The child is a resident of the Huron Valley School District.

  • The child is under the age of 18.

  • The child's household income falls within HUD income limits.

HVYA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 38-2309476), affiliate of Oakland County Youth Assistance. It is sponsored by Huron Valley Schools, the Townships of Highland, Milford, White Lake and Commerce, the Village of Milford, and Oakland County Circuit Court - Family Division, with Oakland County Board of Commissioners support.

Established in 1969, Huron Valley Youth Assistance is committed to preventing juvenile delinquency, child neglect and abuse through community involvement. HVYA provides professional casework services and programs seeking to meet the unique needs of children and families living in the Huron Valley School District.
