It is my honor and privilege to serve the Huron Valley Schools (HVS) as its Superintendent. In HVS we strive day in and day out to live our mission of Inspiring and Building Futures One Student at a Time.
Our district includes sixteen (16) schools spanning 99.6 square miles. Our transportation fleet drives the equivalent number of miles, on a daily basis, to that of a round trip to Europe and back. Our programming is robust and includes everything from Early Childhood to Adult Education. Words alone simply do not express how proud I am of our school district and the community we serve.
Huron Valley Schools has a reputation of excellence in providing public education to nearly 8,000 students that come from Village of Milford, Milford Township, Highland Township, White Lake Township, Commerce Township and even some Schools of Choice students. As a school community we pride ourselves on being a Triple A district, meaning we work toward constantly growing our academics, athletics and arts programs while keeping children safe and healthy and caring for social emotional needs.
Our community’s generosity not only helps us accomplish our mission but most recently, in 2019, HVS community members said Yes, Yes to HVS in the support of a zero tax rate increase Bond and Building Site Sinking Fund initiative. The dollars generated as a result of the community's support has helped us harden the physical safety of our schools, implement needed technology, make major renovations throughout and transform HVS into a 21st Century School District where the excellence in education can continue to grow and thrive.
I am proud to say that innovation and forward-thinking has been a cornerstone of excellence in our academic programs and now our facilities match the excellence of teachers, support staff and the administrative team. The major improvements we have witnessed would not have been a reality without our community’s support. Thank you for believing in our schools and recognizing that healthy schools equal healthy communities where families want to raise their children and invest in local businesses.
Finally, you will not find a group of more committed professionals. From the individual who drives your children to school to the teachers that engage your children in learning everyday, you will not find a better group than the Huron Valley Schools. Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you enjoy learning about the wonderful opportunities available to your children and we look forward to your partnership.
Respectfully,
Dr. Paul Salah
Superintendent
