Kelly Hemmerling, STEM teacher at MHS, has been selected as a one of two state finalists for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching, or PAEMST, for 2025. This is the highest award bestowed by the US government upon a STEM teacher. Up next, the national selection process, overseen by the National Science Foundation, where she may be chosen as the state of Michigan's awardee. The winner of each state attends an awards banquet at the White House and earns $10,000!
