This weekend the Huron Valley Winter Guard competed at the Winter Guard International Chicago Regional and took home the Gold Medal. This is their first Gold Medal at a WGI Regional in many years. They have come incredibly far and their competition is all outstanding as well, which makes this even more impressive. Way to go HVWG!

In Ms. Flynn's AP Psychology and Introductory Psychology courses, students delve deeper into the fascinating world of psychology through engaging hands-on projects and activities. The Build-a-Neuron project provided a fantastic opportunity to review the various components of neurons and their vital roles in neural transmission. Additionally, Sensation & Perception Station Day allowed AP students to immerse themselves in exploring their diverse senses.

On National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day we send a big THANK YOU to Deputy Dennis Gross!

This past Friday was the MSBOA District IV Solo and Ensemble Festival at Walled Lake Central. Our band students from IA West, Lakeland, and Milford did tremendous!
We had 88 individual performances within 35 events this year! Our students received medals for 85 out of 88 performances! 70 of these were Superior Ratings (I), which is the highest rating! 15 were Excellent Rating (II), which is the next highest!
Most of this work is done outside the school day, on their own time and preparation, and commitment to doing their absolute best! Congratulations to these outstanding students from all 3 of our programs!

Big congrats to Milford's boys and girls snowboard team who had a three-peat as East Lansing champions this week!

The Milford Unified basketball team kicked off their season last night. They hosted a very talented Walled Lake Central team. Nolan Theaker and JT Colwell both played well for the Mavericks. Their next game is February 9th at Walled Lake Northern. Tip off is at 4pm.

The Junior Optimist Club at Milford High School sent 11 students to be trained in presenting peer resistance skills to elementary age students. These students attended two days of training to perfect their presentations. The peer resistance training includes examples of peer pressure, how to resist peer pressure, basic rights, turning to trusted adults and being assertive. They are all looking forward to working with the 5th graders throughout the Huron Valley Schools district this spring!

The MHS Varsity Ski Team competes in the LVC Championship Monday afternoon with home advantage at Alpine Valley. Good luck, Mavs!

Mrs. Geraci's level one ASL class is using the "Shout It Out" program to work on finger spelling by creating a competitive learning environment with a game. The students really like it and have fun while learning sign language.

Due to the weather all afternoon and evening activities have been canceled. Safe travels.

The big move happened today. The new front doors of Milford High School are officially open! Staff is very excited about the new security measures in place. A lot of work has gone into making the building safer for a better learning environment.

Today midterm exams begin. Students will be released at 10:31 today, Monday and Tuesday. Good luck, Mavs!

Fifteen Genisys Credit Union representatives came to Milford High School today to meet with over 200 students with their Reality Fair simulation. This activity simulates one year of independent living and teaches students how to manage their finances with a set budget via an app. They choose a career, are assigned a credit score and have to navigate through buying housing, clothing, food, etc. What a wonderful experience for our students! Thank you Genisys!! @GenisysCU
