Dear Oxbow Parents, Guardians and Community,
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! My name is Justine Greenleaf and I am honored and excited to be the Principal at Oxbow Elementary. This is my 19th year in the field of education and my 6th year at Oxbow Elementary. I hold a Masters in Educational Leadership from Marygrove College and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where I also played volleyball. Go Blue! I am very proud of my heritage, growing up as a first-generation Polish-American here in Michigan. Throughout my educational experience, I have had an opportunity to work as an elementary classroom teacher, elementary teacher mentor, assistant principal, and principal. My experiences have included working in various diverse buildings, cultures, and communities in Michigan and Georgia.
This year we will continue to focus on kindness and togetherness, connecting this to our Positivity Project (P2) lessons. P2 empowers students to build positive relationships and to foster those relationships while working together towards a positive school culture.
Our passionate Oxbow staff values building family partnerships and relationships within our community. We also strive to provide a safe, loving, and conducive learning environment for our students, by creating a culture of high expectations for all. We are a team of dedicated educators who are passionate about the students and the community that we serve.
A few fun things about me, I speak a second language, I love to workout, travel, read, drink iced coffee, and go to Disney World. My husband and I have a 9-year-old son who is in 3rd grade, and we live in the Canton community. I am very excited about this school year and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow within the Oxbow community. Go Owls!
Educationally Yours,
Mrs. Justine Greenleaf
