The Milford High School Thespians of Troupe 4291 participated and competed at the annual Michigan Thespian Festival this past weekend at the Lansing Center. 37 MHS students attended and participated in Individual Competitive Events, Workshops, Shows from other high schools, Senior Scholarship Auditions, and networked with university and industry professionals.
I am extremely proud of our students as they showed a tremendous amount of professionalism, courage, and perseverance.
7 seniors competed for College Scholarships and collectively earned $1,529,000 in offers!! The highest ever for MHS and more will probably roll in over the coming months.
Congratulations to all for representing MHS and our troupe - Jillian Armstrong, Lachlan Beesley, Vivian Lakin, Joe Meagher, Allie Mobey, Aubrey Snavley, & Peyton Wheeler.
Jillian Armstrong was also chosen as one of the TOP TEN thespians earning the prestigious Thespian Scholarship. She had to sing, do a monologue and complete an interview for a panel of judges and she was one chosen as one of the best in the state. She is the 9th MHS student to earn such an honor in the past 10 years.
Senior Ben Mondrush served this year as a member of the exclusive Student Thespian Officer Board, helping to execute this successful festival and running several aspects throughout the weekend. There were only 7 students selected to be a part of this board this past January and we are so proud of Ben and his leadership skills.
ALL of our Individual Events earned the top two ratings (out of four levels)

At closing ceremonies, I was also honored as the 2022 Michigan Educational Theatre Association Hall of Fame Inductee (aka Michigan Theatre Teacher of the Year). I was humbled and honored to be included in such a prestigious group and I look forward to my continued work and leadership within this organization.
All in all, it was a tremendous weekend that we got to share with over 55 schools in Michigan (including our brothers and sisters at LHS). Thank you to Brenda Granroth, Brittany Miller, Maryann Lambrecht and Michelle White for helping get all of our events ready for performance, to our amazing Chaperone team for keeping it all on track and to all of you for supporting the arts at MHS and in Huron Valley. These kids make us look great and we are consistently recognized by several universities for our talent and professionalism.
