This year was one of our best years in recent memory from a support and organizational standpoint. We had an overwhelming amount of support from schools, families, and the HVS community which allowed us to help many Huron Valley families this holiday season.
This year Milford High School alone was able to support 16 different families (70 people total) as we raised $8,820 with our in school fundraising. In addition to that and with a partnership with the Joe Kocur foundation we were able to adopt an additional 36 people to bring our grand total to 106 different people Milford Miracles was able to support this Holiday season. Milford High School Leadership students were able to see the process through from start to finish as they shopped for families wish lists, wrapped and organized gifts, and dropped off at schools and homes. It is great to see our HS students go through this process to not only learn more about their community but also the importance of giving back.
A huge thank you to HVS counselors and social workers for working and identifying families with needs this holiday season. Thank you to Harmony Hannachi for being "lead elf" and helping with online orders, organization, and finances. Also the Joe Kocur foundation for continuing to support our program year after year. A huge thank you to MHS staff for your continued support in fundraising within your classrooms and spreading the word on this 30+ year tradition at Milford High School. This support truly makes these "miracles" come to life year after year and what makes Milford a special place and community.
