DECA kicks off the school year with a big start!

Milford DECA has kicked off the new school year with two community service events. First, the Million Dollar Minute fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy and then a huge donation drive collecting items to include in care packages for soldiers. This drive is in partnership with Blue Star Mothers of America's Huron Valley Chapter.  MHS students and families have provided thousands of hygiene, first aid, food and convenience items for our troops. Students sorted and packaged all of these awesome donations and handed them off to Blue Star Mothers who in turn will send them to our troops. Students also organized a card-making campaign resulting in hundreds of encouraging notes and cards for soldiers currently serving our country.

Katie McDonald and Avery Graskewicz were there chair people of the community service event.

Seniors Katie McDonald and Avery Graskewicz are the chair people of this community service event. They spear headed the whole project and DECA teacher Mrs. J said they did a great job! "Community service is an important part of MHS DECA! It's going to be a great year!" DECA has 94 members this year, an increase from last year. Students and staff are excited for the year to come.
