Milford High School alum Kaitlyn (Schultz) Miller (Class of 2008) was inducted in to the Central Michigan University Hall of Fame this past Friday. Miller is the first Chippewa volleyball player to earn All-Mid-American Conference honors four times. She earned the MAC Freshman of the Year Award, was named the 2011 MAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, and remains the program's all-time leader with a .366 career hitting percentage and season hitting percentage (.407 in 2011). Miller also ranks in the top 10 in program history in career kills, career kills per set, career block solos, career block assists, career blocks and career points.
While at MHS, Miller played varsity basketball and ran track one year, before she focused solely on volleyball for three years. She was a finalist for the Michigan Miss Volleyball Award which is given to the best high school volleyball player in the state. She earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State. Miller was also named Conference Player of the Year her junior season. She still holds all four major offensive single-season school records for attack percentage at .533, attack attempts 1,186, kills 707, kills per game 5.89. She also holds the career school records for Kills at 1,478.
