Milford High School DECA is so proud of our own junior Ryan Carrannanto who was elected President of Michigan DECA. He was chosen by voting delegates from every Michigan School DECA Chapter. Ryan was one of seventeen candidates and will represent MHS for the next year in this new position.
It all started his freshman year when Ryan Carrannanto first joined the Milford High School DECA Chapter. He threw himself into the Entrepreneurship Series Event and found himself hooked. During his three years in DECA he has competed at the District and State levels and this year will compete internationally. He has been a State Finalist twice and this year was named one of five State Champions in the Business Growth Plan event where he prepared a plan for his own business, Limited Infinity that wowed the judges for the win. To know Ryan is to know that he likely set his eyes on the drive for State Officer from the moment he walked into his first Michigan DECA competition.
Ryan is a very driven student. He stacks his schedule with AP classes and is part of Student Council, NHS, and is the founder and president of the Finance Club. While at MHS Ryan has played on the basketball team and runs cross country and track. His drive for success is unparalleled. Kelly Janeczek, his business teacher and DECA Advisor, describes Ryan as "driven to succeed with U of M in mind." She says, "You can actually see Ryan's brain working. He's always in some world thinking of the business he runs, or AP pre-calculus, or about the finance presentation he will be sharing during seminar. I don't know how he does it, but I have no doubt he will be successful as he grows in life."
Ryan is the son of Paul and Michelle Carrannanto who undoubtedly play a key role in his success and keeping his busy life on schedule. His dream is to attend the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. His current Principal, Kevin McKenna, is very excited for Ryan. "We look forward to Ryan representing Milford High School this upcoming year, as this is a very deserving role for him. Congratulations, Ryan Carrannanto!" We are very proud of you!
