What is the National Junior Honor Society ?
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
What would I do as a member of the National Junior Honor Society?
In addition to maintaining the qualities that earn you your membership, as an NJHS member you'll attend meetings and perform service projects that benefit your school and community.
How will I know if I am eligible to apply to the National Junior Honor Society?
In order to be eligible, you need to be a 7th or 8th grader who has exhibited exemplary citizenship as well as maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
What will I need to do in order to apply to the National Junior Honor Society?
8th graders who were in NJHS last year will be submitting their individual community service hours to a google form that will be shared with them.
7th graders and new 8th graders will have to go through an application process which includes:
Complete a self-evaluation
Write an essay
Complete 12 hours of community service
