It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Heritage Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. I possess over twenty-five years of educational experience in the Huron Valley School District. As both an educator and a parent I have been an active and supportive member of the district. During my years as a teacher at Country Oaks Elementary, I have spent a great deal of time working on building committees, supporting new curriculum initiatives, and enhancing student growth opportunities. My most recent leadership experience has been shaped by returning to Oakland University where I obtained my Educational Specialist in Leadership Degree. Throughout my years in education, I have continued to stay current on best practices for kids and successful schools. I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to your son/daughter’s school and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
Along with staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Heritage by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. We are a proud Positivity Project school and will continue to focus on character education initiatives, 21st Century skills, fostering a nurturing and safe environment for children, use of data to inform instruction, consistent implementation of newly adopted direct instruction strategies to increase students’ achievement, and providing exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.
I anticipate a most successful year as my team and I support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Heritage Elementary School.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Heritage the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world-class citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school. As Principal, I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call, or email jenna.stevens@hvs.org to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
In partnership,
Mrs. Jenna Stevens
