Happy Friday, Lakewood Families:
March is Reading Month! To kick off this month, we had Michigan author Bryan Chick visit our school on Tuesday. He spoke to all JK-5th grade students about the writing process, how to make a book, and he introduced to them the books he has published, such as: The Secret Zoo Series, Wayfinders, and the Super Sports Society.
We have several events coming up next week. First off, we have our monthly PTA meeting on Tuesday at 7 PM in the Lakewood media center. At this meeting, I will be informing you of what our school improvement goals are, the results of our staff, student, and parent perception surveys; and I will tell you about some of the activities we are working on at Lakewood to support our school improvement goals.
On Thursday, we will be having our annual junior kindergarten and kindergarten orientation in the Lakewood Cafeteria at 6 PM. If you or anyone you know has a rising junior kindergartner or kindergartner that is slated to attend Lakewood next year, please encourage them to attend this. Current junior kindergarten families, you are more than welcome to attend, but please be advised that we will be presenting the same presentation as last year. 😊
On Friday, we will be having our Wild West School Family Dance from 6-8 PM. This is a FREE event for our Lakewood families. There will be a DJ, dancing, and fun photo ops. Please note that there will be no food served at this event, and parents/guardians are expected to attend with your child and supervise them throughout the event. We hope to see you and your families there!
Have a great weekend!
