Two HHS leadership students collect bags of recycling donations

The Harbor High School student leadership group met during week one of the 2024-2025 school year and decided to continue their work right where they left off last year. Students are organizing a bottle return drive to support Oakland County Foster Closet. OCFC is a 501c(3) non-profit, 100% volunteer run organization that provides, at no cost: clothing, shoes, hygiene items, school supplies and much more to foster, at-risk, adopted and qualified low income children.

Community members, students, and families can drop off donations of empty returnable bottles to the main entry vestibule at HHS during normal business hours (8:00am to 3:00pm). Returnables will be managed through a local company, Tyler’s Bottle Service, run by a LHS alumni. This drive comes on the heels of last year’s success, supporting Community Sharing with a food drive and Huron Valley Humane Society with a financial donation and bandanas.

The HHS student leadership group has taken a keen interest in supporting local area resource centers and giving back to the community. If you would like to donate directly to Oakland County Foster Closet, you can inquire directly at www.ocfostercloset.org.
